Cultural Placekeeping

How can Blue Line Extension Stations represent your community?
The METRO Blue Line Extension is more than a transit project - it is a connection between communities, histories, and lived experiences, where every station reflects the stories, strengths, and spirit of the communities it serves — past, present, and future.

Over the course of 2025, community members, local artists, and public agency partners worked together to create cultural placekeeping themes for each station along the route. These themes are meant to reflect the identities, stories, and values of the neighborhoods the Blue Line Extension will serve and will be used to guide station designs alongside consideration of all community feedback received. Your feedback will help guide how these cultural themes are refined and integrated into station design so that each station feels welcoming, authentic, and rooted in community.

Please review each station theme and share your thoughts by April 17.
