Opening in 2027

The METRO Green Line Extension (also known as the Southwest light rail project, or SWLRT) is a generational investment in our region’s transit system that adds 14.5 miles to the existing METRO Green Line, which connects downtown Minneapolis and downtown Saint Paul. The new segment adds more stations in Minneapolis, extends through St. Louis Park, Hopkins, Minnetonka, and ends in Eden Prairie.

Comment on proposed connecting bus service for Green Line Extension and more by October 4

Metro Transit is updating the Network Now framework to provide more robust connecting service plans to the METRO Green Line Extension as well as the Highway 55 corridor. Lessons learned through the implementation of Network Now, combined with the opening of Green Line Extension in 2027 and the anticipated Route 757 in the Highway 55 corridor, present an important opportunity to revise our network plans to reflect current needs of transit users.
