Construction is starting on a new rapid bus line that Metro Transit said will result in quicker trips between downtown Minneapolis and Brooklyn Center

About $200 million in federal funds will go to local highway, bridge, transit, bicycle and pedestrian projects. The federal funds will leverage additional local matching funds.
