On September 10, 2025, HUD formally announced NSPIRE inspection standard implementation has been delayed to February 1, 2027. This delay will provide Housing Authorities and property owners additional time to transition effectively. Here's a basic guide on current HQS inspections.

nd, 2027, HUD will require all HCV households to operate under the new National Standards for the Inspection of Real Estate (NSPIRE). The new standards are meant to focus more safety and habitability, while leaving cosmetics between the landlord and tenant.

- Common Spaces
- Carbon Monoxide Alarms
- Electrical Outlets
- Fire doors
- Guardrails
