Project Description

Metropolitan Council Environmental Services (Met Council), operator of the metro-area wastewater collection and treatment system, is improving facilities at the Seneca Water Resource Recover Facility (WRRF), including piping that has been in service for over 50 years. 

Work includes the main influent channel pipe that brings all influent flow to the facility.  To do this, pumps have been set up to temporarily convey all of the flow around the work site.  Restoration will also include a second large pipe that runs the length of the WRRF and keeps the biology of the facility in peak condition.  Additional work will restore surface and groundwater flow to a more natural condition and add stormwater filtration features to the site.
