Project Description

Contractors from Metropolitan Council Environmental Services will be in the area to conduct repairs to a 24-inch diameter pressure sewer.  A fiber optic service provider installing conduit along George Street in Excelsior damaged a Metropolitan Council pressure sewer near the intersection of George Street and Beehrle Avenue, releasing wastewater to the environment.  Crews responded immediately to remove flow from the damaged pipe and clean up the area.

This project will repair the damaged pipe.  Crews will remove a portion of the street, cut out the damaged pipe, replace it with a new pipe, and reconstruct the street.

A section of George Street near Beehrle Avenue will be closed to through traffic to secure an area for the contractors to work.  We anticipate minor disruptions to the neighborhood and will arrange to provide all home and business owners with continued access to their properties.
